Sensei Tony Almeida, is an 3rd Dan, (3rd degree black belt) Shotokan Karate-Do instructor. With over 30 years of training in Japanese martial arts, Sensei Tony brings to the Budokan Dojo the traditions of karate discipline and honor. He has won many national and international titles which gave him a lot of experience that have been added to his curriculum. He also got his bachelor’s degree in physical education what gave him the knowledge to start working as a group trainer and the desire to get his license as a Les Mills instructor.
Tony was born and raised in a very small town in Brazil where he worked as a Karate instructor and a group trainer for many years. One year he had the opportunity to come to the US for an event called “IHSA” (International Health, Racquet & Sports Club Association) in San Francisco when he fall in love with the country and decided to move here. He worked in few well known gyms in the city and when he finally had the chance, he opened his own business called OC Fitness where he also runs the Budokan Dojo. His love and his passion for Karate and fitness has been the heart of his business.
Susan has been teaching Zumba for 4 years to students of all levels and abilities. Susan’s focus is to provide her students with a great workout to fun music. Zumba is a dance fitness class using various Latin and world music. No dance experience needed.
Maria Pires spinning and Zumba instructor, teaching 6 years of spin and 3 years of Zumba. She loves to inspires others helping because she understands the impact of motivation she also started her personal journey at an unhealthy weight and has not stop pushing forward, she feels a personal attachment to fitness and over all health. She also speaks for languages and has the ability to reach out in communication with multi diverse cultures give them a chance to feel comfortable to come to her with any of the fitness needs.
Kristina began her journey of being a fitness instructor back in 2012 by getting certified in Turbokick. In 2013, she received her spinning certification through Maddog and her group exercise certification through AFAA. In 2017, she got her personal training certification through ACE, her Group Power certification through MOSSA, and is in the process of getting certified in Les Mills Body Combat. Kristina has always loved exercising. Teaching classes and helping others is her greatest passion.
